Description

  • Own the technical evaluation process from first conversation through POC, architecture sign-off, and successful onboarding.
  • Engage with data engineers, platform teams, and technical founders to understand their use cases, data volumes, query patterns, and infrastructure needs.
  • Design ClickHouse solutions that map to customer requirements and technical constraints.
  • Troubleshoot schema design, ingestion patterns, and integration challenges during the sales cycle.
  • Build and deliver reference implementations, POCs, and architecture recommendations for prospects.
  • Partner with Commercial Account Executives to progress and close opportunities.
  • Advocate for customer technical needs internally with Product and Engineering.
  • Contribute to technical playbooks, objection-handling guides, and reusable POC assets.
  • Participate in developer community events, technical meetups, and online forums to build credibility and engage users.

Requirements

  • Deep technical foundation in data engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Background as a data engineer, software engineer, analytics engineer, or similar hands-on role.
  • Comfort with the modern data stack, including columnar databases, streaming ingestion, cloud infrastructure, and SQL-heavy analytics workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, DuckDB, Druid, Pinot, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar tools is a strong plus.
  • Some customer-facing experience in pre-sales, technical account management, solutions engineering, or customer success.
  • Ability to drive technical evaluations quickly and remove blockers that stall deals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity about the business side of technology and what success looks like for customers.
  • Ownership mentality with comfort operating autonomously and making judgment calls without a playbook.
  • Prior pre-sales experience is not required, but technical depth is non-negotiable.
