Description

  • Design and develop high-throughput integrations with databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
  • Handle real-world production edge cases, including unconventional database setups, schema changes, upgrades, failovers, and large transactions.
  • Optimize replication strategies by understanding database internals and data type compatibility across systems.
  • Debug complex production issues using runtime diagnostics and observability tools.
  • Build and improve infrastructure and internal tools to increase reliability, reduce incident response time, and automate operations.
  • Write clear internal and public documentation.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Work directly with customers to understand integration requirements and identify product gaps.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead technical discussions and influence product roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience building data-intensive software solutions.
  • Proficiency in Go, or systems programming experience with willingness to ramp up quickly in Go.
  • Experience deploying and operating services on at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong production debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for design docs, code reviews, technical discussions, customer calls, and incident response.
  • Experience with database replication technologies such as CDC or logical replication is a plus.
  • Experience with durable execution frameworks such as Temporal is a plus.
  • Experience with data formats and protocols such as Avro, Parquet, or Protobuf is a plus.
  • Experience with modern data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink is a plus.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source software is a plus.
