Description

  • Serve on customer projects focused on design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation.
  • Perform research, benchmarking, performance testing, functional testing, reference architecture work, sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling support.
  • Provide consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects for implementations, onboarding, production launches, and proof of concepts.
  • Deliver architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on tasks.
  • Handle L1 to L3 support cases and customer communications when not assigned to larger projects.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to contribute to the product roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and support public and internal documentation, knowledge base articles, learning materials, reference architectures, blogs, and benchmark results.
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
  • Participate in scheduling, on-call coverage, and 24x7 global support needs, including onsite travel as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, or Project Management roles.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing, operating, or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant distributed database management systems.
  • Technical breadth and depth across DBMS, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and shipping large technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
  • Experience with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure-as-a-service offerings such as EC2.
  • Experience with ClickHouse is a plus.
  • Experience with OSS and open-source technologies as a user, community member, or contributor is a plus.
  • Experience with data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort in a customer-facing role collaborating with Support Services, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Ability to work in a global, distributed environment with on-call and scheduling flexibility, including up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.
