Description

  • Build and lead a high-performing technical team in China with a focus on technical excellence and customer obsession.
  • Support the Alibaba Cloud and ClickHouse partnership through technical integration, optimization, and go-to-market collaboration.
  • Lead enterprise customer POCs from architecture design through production deployment.
  • Design PB-scale real-time data warehouse architectures for mission-critical workloads.
  • Partner with global Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to represent customer needs and drive product innovation.
  • Represent ClickHouse at technical conferences, meetups, and community events in China.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin for technical discussions with global teams and Chinese customers.
  • Outstanding customer-facing communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Deep database expertise, including internals, query optimization, distributed systems, and OLAP technologies.
  • Strong architecture design capability for large-scale, mission-critical data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating PB-scale real-time data warehouse production systems.
  • Cloud-native proficiency with hands-on experience in at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud.
  • Team leadership experience managing technical teams of 10+ engineers.
  • 8+ years of experience in database, data warehouse, or big data technologies.
  • High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability in a high-velocity environment.
  • Founder’s mindset focused on impact, innovation, and measurable results.
  • Preferred: ClickHouse community contribution through code, documentation, or advocacy.
  • Preferred: Experience with columnar databases such as ClickHouse, Druid, or Pinot, and real-time analytics systems.
  • Preferred: Kubernetes experience deploying and managing stateful applications at scale.
  • Preferred: Data engineering background in ETL pipelines, data replication, CDC, and streaming platforms such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
  • Preferred: Technical writing or speaking experience, including blogs, conference presentations, or technical documentation.
  • Preferred: Open-source contributions in the database or cloud-native ecosystem.
  • Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills with experience debugging complex production issues.
