Description

  • Build agents that investigate incidents, surface anomalies, and help explain why production is broken.
  • Develop a reusable library of skills that encode debugging, root cause analysis, ClickHouse querying, and incident response workflows.
  • Own the agent stack end to end, including context engineering, tool design, evaluations, tracing, and cost management.
  • Build MCP servers, SDKs, and integrations that let customer agents read telemetry, take action, and remain observable.
  • Collaborate openly with OSS contributors and customers to debug issues and feed learnings back into the product.
  • Tackle production constraints such as latency, cost, context window limits, evaluation coverage, and hallucinations on real telemetry.
  • Design and improve agentic systems for observability and incident response workflows.
  • Help make ClickStack a strong platform for AI workloads in production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 1–2 years building LLM-powered systems or agents in production.
  • Strong backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python.
  • Hands-on experience building agents with multi-step tool use, planning, memory, and error recovery.
  • Experience designing skills or workflow encodings, and knowing when to use a skill, a tool, or both.
  • Experience with MCP, including building servers, designing tools, and thinking through auth, scoping, and observability.
  • Strong evaluation practices, including golden sets, LLM-as-judge, and regression detection.
  • SQL proficiency and ability to write ClickHouse queries directly.
  • Comfort with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Active involvement in open source and the developer community.
  • Preferred: experience building or operating production agents in observability, incident response, or SRE.
  • Preferred: strong opinions on agent observability, including tracing, cost attribution, eval pipelines, and OpenTelemetry for agents.
  • Preferred: experience with prompt caching, context compaction, or similar techniques for production telemetry volumes.
  • Preferred: experience with columnar databases and event ingestion pipelines.
  • Preferred: contribution to or maintenance of an open-source AI or agent project.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Go, Rust, or other systems languages for integrations and high-throughput infrastructure.
