Description

  • Manage a small team of developers while remaining an active contributor to the codebase.
  • Drive system architecture and take ownership of complex technical decisions.
  • Enforce engineering best practices through thorough code reviews.
  • Mentor direct reports and help grow the team’s technical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver technical milestones on schedule.
  • Lead agile sprint planning and help remove technical roadblocks to keep delivery predictable.
  • Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for the platform.
  • Develop responsive, high-performance frontend experiences for user-facing products.
  • Own critical feature development and complex architectural challenges as a working manager.
  • Help ensure platform scalability, security, reliability, and low production defect rates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive software engineering experience across the full SDLC.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership, tech lead, or engineering manager role.
  • Proven experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and managing agile sprint deliveries as a player-coach.
  • 3+ years of experience building, scaling, and maintaining e-commerce platforms, multi-vendor marketplaces, or high-volume transactional SaaS applications.
  • Understanding of shopping cart state management, payment gateway integrations, inventory synchronization, and secure user data handling.
  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience in the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js and Nest.js for scalable backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
  • Strong experience with React and Next.js for responsive, high-performance frontends.
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB and MySQL for both NoSQL and relational database management.
  • Experience with multi-currency transactions, global logistics, or vendor payout structures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2, NIST, or PCI-DSS compliance frameworks and security protocols is preferred.
  • Experience implementing security and compliance controls in a cloud-native SDLC is preferred.
