Description

  • Contribute to engineering teams on projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators to define, prioritize, and track technical requirements in GitLab.
  • Apply the full software development lifecycle across projects.
  • Develop software solutions using Python, C++, Java, Rust, JavaScript, Unity, and related frameworks.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and updates with cross-functional team members.
  • Document technical implementations and API specifications using Docusaurus and Markdown.
  • Work with customers to define analytical questions, decision contexts, assumptions, measures, constraints, and experimental designs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or a bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in lieu of a master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of software design and development lifecycles and agile methodologies.
  • Proven software engineering experience with a strong understanding of programming language design.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and related frameworks.
  • Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL, and SQL.
  • Experience in deployment engineering, build systems, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment or similar technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Experience in a research and development role within the defense industry (preferred).
  • Experience in machine learning and/or artificial intelligence, especially reinforcement learning (preferred).
  • Development experience in C++, Java, Rust, C#, and compilers/DSLs (desired).
  • Familiarity with React JS (desired).
