Description

  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to design services and features that improve the core product.
  • Develop tools and services to improve the image build system as it scales.
  • Own high-impact, technically complex components of the Chainguard stack as the subject matter expert.
  • Participate in long-term planning and roadmap discussions to identify and solve the team’s key problems.
  • Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality across the organization.
  • Shape long-term technical direction and drive outcomes beyond the immediate team.
  • Maintain product quality standards for Chainguard Images.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, including data structures, algorithms, compilers, Makefiles, and toolchains.
  • Expertise with containers, container registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and the broader Kubernetes ecosystem.
  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools, including creating reusable modules and organizing resources logically.
  • Experience writing services or tools in Go.
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and seek help proactively when needed.
  • Experience as an author and/or contributor to open-source projects is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $205,000 to $231,000 USD.
