Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of core Libraries Platform services, pipelines, and package index components.
  • Design and maintain automation for artifact creation, updates, verification, vulnerability scanning, remediation, SBOM generation, provenance, and policy enforcement.
  • Build and operate shared platform services such as package indexes, registry mirrors, metadata services, and orchestration tooling.
  • Develop internal developer tools and CLIs, often in Go, to improve library build, test, and release workflows.
  • Integrate build systems and CI/CD workflows across multiple language ecosystems.
  • Drive reliability, scalability, and observability by defining SLOs, building monitoring and alerting, and leading incident response.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex dependency, toolchain, compiler, packaging, and infrastructure issues in production.
  • Partner with ecosystem, platform, delivery, sustaining, and security teams to meet reliability, security, and product needs.
  • Mentor and unblock other engineers through design reviews, documentation, and hands-on debugging.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating infrastructure for language ecosystems or developer platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or the ability to ramp quickly.
  • Proven experience building and owning developer tooling and automation such as plugins, CLIs, code generators, or custom pipelines.
  • Strong background in CI/CD, cloud-native infrastructure, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration, including Docker/OCI and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience with tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions, Argo, or Tekton, or equivalents.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve complex toolchain, compiler, packaging, and infrastructure failures in production.
  • Comfort working in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps-style responsibilities with reliability, observability, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication in a remote, distributed environment with strong documentation and collaboration skills.
  • Ownership mindset with comfort setting technical direction and driving critical outcomes.
  • Open source contributions in ecosystem tooling, libraries, or packaging are preferred.
  • Experience with software supply chain security concepts such as SLSA, SBOMs, sigstore, provenance, attestations, or secure-by-default packaging practices is preferred.
  • Background with Linux distributions, packaging, and reproducible build systems such as Alpine, Wolfi, Debian, Bazel, CMake, or Ninja is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML packaging and infrastructure for native Python libraries and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is preferred.
  • Prior experience in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps roles focused on developer productivity or large language-ecosystem codebases is preferred.
