Description

  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to design services and features that enhance the core product.
  • Develop tools and services that improve the image build system as it scales.
  • Own high-impact, technically complex components of the Chainguard stack as the subject matter expert.
  • Participate in long-term planning and roadmap discussions to identify and solve the team’s key problems.
  • Work closely with Product to validate ideas and launch new features.
  • Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality standards across the organization.
  • Guide technical decisions and help shape the long-term technical direction of the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • Prior experience leading teams of at least 5 engineers.
  • Expertise with containers, container registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and the broader Kubernetes ecosystem.
  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools, including creating reusable modules and organizing resources logically.
  • Experience writing services or tools in Go.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and proactively seek help when needed.
  • Experience as an author and/or contributor to open-source projects is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $229,000 to $258,000 USD.
