Description

  • Receive, prepare, and set up customer samples for analysis.
  • Enter data, select analyses, and log and approve samples in a LIMS database on a Windows workstation.
  • Process and maintain client samples at the correct temperatures.
  • Segregate samples according to FSNS procedures.
  • Assist with shipping customer supplies, including return coolers.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify orders and resolve sample issues.
  • Follow FSNS policies, procedures, techniques, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain laboratory conditions, equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records.
  • Perform work in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
  • Support team priorities, schedules, and required training completion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic knowledge of concepts and practices of a testing laboratory.
  • Training in general laboratory practices preferred.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a commercial food-testing laboratory preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse and work with computer components.
  • Ability to handle potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens.
  • Ability to work in a noise- and temperature-variable environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Overnight travel required at management’s discretion.
