Description

  • Lead product demonstrations and technical deep-dives across Catena’s fleet, logistics, insurance, compliance, safety, maintenance, and data-infrastructure use cases.
  • Own technical evaluations from sandbox provisioning through data samples, ELD field-matrix reviews, and proof-of-concept success criteria.
  • Scope integrations by mapping prospect TMS, data warehouse, BI, and CRM systems to Catena’s APIs, webhooks, and data-sharing options.
  • Address technical objections involving coverage, data quality, architecture, competition, and security reviews.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Engineering to transition evaluations into implementation.
  • Share prospect feedback to inform product priorities, including endpoints, providers, and data points.
  • Build and maintain repeatable demo environments, technical FAQs, and competitive battlecards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or solutions architecture at a SaaS or data company.
  • 3+ years of experience in freight technology, telematics, ELD, TMS, or logistics software.
  • Working knowledge of telematics platforms such as Samsara, Motive, or Geotab and related data, including GPS, HOS, fault codes, and safety events.
  • Fluency with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication flows, Postman, and example code.
  • Track record of supporting enterprise evaluations through closed deals.
  • Strong communication skills with both customer engineers and executives.
  • Comfort working autonomously in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
  • Experience as a first or early sales engineer at a startup is preferred.
  • Familiarity with carrier operations, freight brokerage workflows, commercial insurance, or API-first data infrastructure products is preferred.
  • Must be based in the US; sponsorship is not available, and occasional customer or team travel is required.
