Description

  • Define and evolve technical architecture and engineering standards across teams.
  • Act as a technical leader through design reviews, RFCs, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Own key features and architectural improvements end-to-end from design through build.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts that inform roadmap and architecture decisions.
  • Take initiative on complex business-critical problems such as third-party extensibility and real-time multi-user synchronization.
  • Partner with QA, Product, Security, Domain SMEs, and DevOps to improve quality, observability, reliability, CI/CD, and deployment safeguards.
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying systemic risks and eliminating root causes affecting reliability, performance, or cost.
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
  • Support production incidents as a senior escalation point and drive root cause analysis and preventative fixes.
  • Champion responsible use of AI-assisted development tools and define guardrails, standards, and metrics for adoption.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with impact beyond a single team.
  • Extensive, in-depth experience with .NET and C#.
  • Proven experience designing and evolving shared platforms or infrastructure used by multiple teams.
  • Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS.
  • Familiarity with scalability, reliability, security, and cost management.
  • Experience working with both monolith applications and microservices.
  • Good experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server.
  • Experience working in an agile team with developers, testers, and a product owner.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
  • Experience with cloud providers beyond AWS, such as Azure or Google Cloud, is preferred.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio are preferred.
