Description

  • Design, build, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that move data from OLTP systems into the data lake.
  • Design and evolve data lake foundations, including storage layout, partitioning, schema management, lineage tracking, cataloging, versioning, and delta synchronization.
  • Build and operate vector databases, embedding pipelines, and RAG data workflows for structured and unstructured content.
  • Enable real-time and event-driven data flows that support AI agent decision-making, orchestration, and system integrations.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts for emerging cloud, data, and AI technologies and translate findings into architectural guidance and platform roadmaps.
  • Own features and solutions end-to-end across design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative solution design.
  • Maintain technical and architectural documentation and enforce development best practices.
  • Drive operational excellence through incident response, post-mortems, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements.
  • Partner with DevOps and DevSuccess to improve build processes, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and platform operability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering.
  • At least 3 years designing and operating cloud-based AWS data platforms.
  • Proven experience building and owning end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines from OLTP systems into analytics- and AI-ready data lakes.
  • Experience designing and supporting production-grade data systems for customer-facing SaaS applications with high availability.
  • Hands-on experience with AI- and analytics-driven workloads, including embedding pipelines, vector-based retrieval, and agentic or intelligent systems.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to design maintainable, testable systems.
  • Experience operating production data systems, including monitoring, incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute through code reviews and collaborative design.
  • Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated or compliance-heavy domains, familiarity with accounting or auditing workflows, and experience defining AI governance or platform adoption standards.
