Description

  • Create architectures, prototypes, and design proposals aligned with business priorities and long-term platform strategy.
  • Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Define and execute product and platform architecture roadmaps with senior developers, architects, and technical leads.
  • Break down large initiatives into incremental, parallelizable work and guide proposals through the full SDLC.
  • Improve build processes, CI/CD pipelines, reliability, observability, monitoring, incident response, and overall SDLC practices.
  • Design and evolve secure, scalable, reliable back-end services and partner with QA, Security, and Product on service quality.
  • Mentor developers through design reviews, technical feedback, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, cloud capabilities, and opportunities for agentic automation.
  • Represent the team in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Demonstrated technical impact beyond a single team and experience influencing architectural decisions across teams.
  • Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed back-end systems, and cloud-native architecture at scale, preferably AWS.
  • Experience designing and operating SaaS or multi-tenant platforms and owning scalable back-end service architecture.
  • Strong software fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and code quality practices.
  • Experience with agentic-AI development and responsible use of AI-assisted tools.
  • Experience designing and consuming HTTP APIs, including REST, GraphQL, or similar approaches.
  • Experience mentoring developers, communicating effectively, and working through ambiguity and changing requirements.
  • Experience with AWS services, CloudFormation, Terraform, PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, JUnit, and New Relic; familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud is preferred.
  • Preferred: Docker, Kubernetes, open-source contributions, or a strong GitHub portfolio.
