Description

  • Create architecture, prototypes, and design proposals that support near-term business value and long-term platform vision.
  • Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Partner with senior developers, architects, and tech leads to define and execute the platform architecture roadmap.
  • Break down large initiatives into parallelizable work that delivers incremental business value.
  • Guide proposals from design through production implementation across the SDLC.
  • Improve the core product build, CI/CD pipelines, and overall SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot persistent production issues and drive reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Keep technical documentation current and create new artifacts as needed.
  • Facilitate design discussions across teams and represent the team in technical discussions with stakeholders.
  • Mentor developers through design reviews, pair programming, and code reviews while raising engineering maturity.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with impact beyond a single team.
  • Deep experience with server-side .NET and C#, including highly distributed microservice architecture.
  • Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale, ideally on AWS.
  • Strong software fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Experience with test-driven development, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience designing and consuming well-designed HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL.
  • Experience with both monolith applications and microservices.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server.
  • Experience mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, ideally Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud providers beyond AWS, such as Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing concepts.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.
