Description

  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve automated tests for the Caseware IDEA desktop application.
  • Maintain and enhance the Ranorex automation framework for reliability, coverage, maintainability, and execution speed.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and implement alternative desktop automation tools where appropriate.
  • Integrate automated tests into GitHub, CI/CD, build, and release validation workflows.
  • Perform manual, exploratory, regression, feature, and release-readiness testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to improve testability, observability, and automation coverage.
  • Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and improve product and automation quality.
  • Translate requirements, audit workflows, and customer scenarios into test strategies and automation coverage.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools for test development, debugging, analysis, and delivery.
  • Define automation standards and mentor QA team members on tooling and technical test design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience as an SDET, Automation QA Engineer, QA Developer, or similar quality engineering role.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests for complex software products.
  • Experience testing Windows desktop applications.
  • Programming or scripting experience with C#, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Experience with Ranorex, WinAppDriver, Appium for Windows, or similar desktop automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Playwright is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and integrating tests into development and release workflows.
  • Experience with GitHub or similar source control and collaboration platforms.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Devin.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies, test design, risk-based testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to perform both automated and manual testing and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Postman, SQL, Windows troubleshooting, command-line tools, installers, logs, or database validation experience is preferred.
  • Interest or experience in audit, accounting, fintech, data analysis, or related customer workflows.
  • Successful candidates must complete a background check.
