Description

  • Create architectures, prototypes, and design proposals aligned with business needs and long-term platform strategy.
  • Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs, design discussions, and collaboration across teams.
  • Partner with senior developers, architects, tech leads, Product, UX, Security, Operations, and other stakeholders on the platform roadmap.
  • Design, build, and maintain distributed microservices and scalable cloud applications.
  • Champion initiatives from design through production and improve build processes, CI/CD pipelines, and the SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response improvements.
  • Mentor developers through design reviews, technical feedback, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Lead adoption of AI-assisted workflows, establish safe usage practices, and improve team feedback loops.
  • Define front-end architecture standards and collaborate with UX and Product on accessible, scalable components.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and maintain technical documentation and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with impact beyond a single team.
  • Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native SaaS or multi-tenant platforms at scale, preferably on AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and code quality practices.
  • Experience with Java 25, Spring Boot, and highly distributed microservice architectures.
  • Experience designing and consuming HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL.
  • Experience with agentic-AI software development and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience mentoring developers and influencing architecture across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Preferred: Angular/TypeScript, Serverless Framework, trunk-based development, Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, Docker, Kubernetes, Storybook, SSR, localization, enterprise monorepos, or accounting and auditing concepts.
  • Familiarity with AWS EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, EMR, Glue, Presto, Spark, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, DocumentDB, Jest, WCAG 2.1, GitHub Actions, and Nx Monorepo.
