Description

  • Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center safely for repairs while meeting production and quality goals.
  • Meet or exceed inventory production goals on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the assigned team and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coach, develop, and manage performance for hourly associates, including providing feedback and support.
  • Create a team environment that encourages positive communication, cohesion, and alignment with Carvana’s values.
  • Communicate expectations, performance measures, and goals clearly to team members.
  • Prevent and resolve conflict among team members.
  • Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Review and approve mechanical and physical defects on incoming inventory.
  • Partner with the Inspection Center General Manager to decide whether inventory should be repaired or rejected based on repair cost and vehicle quality.
  • Train production associates on quality control standards to complete repairs accurately the first time and reduce re-checks and delays.
  • Promote safe work practices and help reduce the risk of injury in the shop.
  • Manage multiple associates and support their ongoing development and performance management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience using computers.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated functional expertise in one or more areas of Carvana’s reconditioning process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current reconditioning processes and lean principles.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in a shop environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or have fumes or odors.
  • Ability to use required safety equipment, including face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and courteously with others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues with guidance from others.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to work variable schedules as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a complete background check.
  • This role is not visa eligible and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
