Description

  • Own accounts receivable, revenue, and deferred revenue reconciliations, including variance investigation and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Prepare customer and partner billings, monitor collections, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Support month-end close through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, close checklists, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Review sales and use tax calculations and filings through Avalara and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and financial modeling using Vena and related tools.
  • Maintain PowerBI financial dashboards and improve reporting for non-finance audiences.
  • Lead partisan electioneering spend analysis and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Track grant expenses, prepare financial grant reports, support audits, and assist with 990 and tax filings.
  • Coordinate payroll allocations and maintain data integrity across TriNet, Vena, Intacct, Bill.com, and PowerBI.
  • Improve recurring finance processes, reporting workflows, reconciliation templates, controls, and audit-ready documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including independent ownership of FP&A and accounting operations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting fundamentals.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial modeling and complex reconciliations.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct preferred, along with Vena or a similar planning tool.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and work independently.
  • Nonprofit experience, including grant accounting, restricted funds, or 501(c)(3)/(c)(4) structures, preferred.
  • Familiarity with sales tax compliance, revenue recognition, PowerBI, payroll systems, external audits, or process improvement preferred.
