Description

  • Develop and maintain analytical applications using Python, Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, and Django.
  • Own the implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of application features and data workflows.
  • Productionize statistical models and machine learning workflows.
  • Translate R-based research and analytical workflows into tested, maintainable Python code.
  • Build and maintain pipelines integrating clinical, structured, and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop interactive data exploration, visualization, and decision-support applications.
  • Implement AI features such as information extraction, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, and multi-step workflows.
  • Add validation, grounding, logging, traceability, and human review to AI-generated outputs.
  • Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, product stakeholders, and engineers to deliver technical solutions.
  • Monitor, debug, document, and improve application performance, reliability, security, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, full-stack development, analytics engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and software development.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data science, or machine learning workflows.
  • Experience converting research or prototype code into maintainable software.
  • Experience with Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, or similar analytical application technologies.
  • Experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar backend frameworks.
  • Experience building data pipelines and working with SQL, relational databases, APIs, and common data formats.
  • Applied knowledge of modern LLM capabilities and production considerations such as grounding, validation, security, latency, cost, and human oversight.
  • Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and debugging; healthcare, cloud platforms, CI/CD, or data science libraries are preferred.

  • San Francisco Bay Area salary range of $133,000–$166,000; remote U.S. range of $108,000–$135,000.
