Description

  • Lead the design, integration, and implementation of network solutions across various deployment schemes for public-safety products.
  • Own and lead network projects including establishment, upgrades, expansions, and migrations of network infrastructure.
  • Configure, maintain, and secure network equipment such as Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN, Cisco switches, and routers, and perform regular security audits.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure maximum uptime and reliability for mission-critical systems.
  • Perform production system upgrades and independent debug sessions, including deep packet capture analysis in live environments.
  • Deploy network infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve network-related challenges and coordinate multi-vendor deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and produce deployment procedures and best-practice guidance.
  • Use data analytics to identify and resolve complex problems affecting voice, video, and transport connectivity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a network engineer (or equivalent) in critical service industries focused on designing and implementing complex network solutions.
  • Strong experience with AWS networking: VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Ingress/Egress architectures, and Route 53.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise IT and data center network planning, design, implementation, and operations.
  • Hands-on configuration and operational experience with Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN infrastructure, and Cisco switches/routers.
  • Proven expertise with networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and DNS, and troubleshooting private/public transport connectivity.
  • Experience designing highly available rack/cabinet/cage infrastructure and using network monitoring and optimization tools.
  • Ability to debug production systems independently, perform deep packet capture analysis, and quickly identify issues affecting voice and video quality.
  • Working experience with IaC and automation tools (Terragrunt, Terraform, Ansible, or Python) and with Git/DevOps tools (VS Code, BitBucket, Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalents).
  • Preferred/bonus: experience with public-safety customers, familiarity with Esinet, SIP/VoIP (AudioCodes Mediant gateway experience), AWS Advanced Networking or Solutions Architect certs, and vendor certs (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, VMware).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a high-activity/fast-paced environment, and note that Carbyne is unable to sponsor employment visas.
