Description

  • Build and maintain a portfolio of hardened, production-ready container images.
  • Design, operate, and improve automated CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, scanning, signing, publishing, promoting, and retiring images.
  • Write tooling and tests to evaluate security compliance and cloud-native compatibility.
  • Work with upstream communities and partners to keep images current with new features, patches, and applications.
  • Collaborate with product security, platform, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams.
  • Provide technical input to team decisions and help define image standards for security, compatibility, performance, size, and developer experience.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to hiring.
  • Document the team’s work and help grow the internal knowledge base.
  • Work in a collaborative, agile, globally distributed environment.
  • Travel globally up to 15% for internal and external events.

Requirements

  • 0-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Experience building container images.
  • Working knowledge of at least one container management or orchestration tool such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems, package management, build systems, release engineering, or artifact pipelines.
  • Clear communication and end-to-end ownership across design, review, documentation, operations, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, a STEM field, or a similar discipline.
  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
  • Business-level written and spoken English.
  • International travel 2-4 times per year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
  • A security-oriented maintenance mindset and a willingness to investigate and resolve dependency or vulnerability findings (preferred).
  • Understanding of software supply chain security, including SBOMs, signatures, provenance, or CVE reports (preferred).
  • Familiarity with GitOps principles and workflows (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Go or Rust (preferred).
  • Experience building minimal or distroless container images (preferred).
  • Knowledge of OCI specifications (preferred).
  • Familiarity with security or compliance frameworks such as CIS, NIST, FedRAMP, or DISA STIG (preferred).
  • Evidence of contributions to open source projects (preferred).
  • Relevant Linux, container, or cloud-native certifications such as CKS or DCA are welcome.
