Description

  • Coach leaders to raise their management effectiveness against a clear standard of excellence.
  • Handle difficult conversations and help leaders follow through on feedback commitments.
  • Translate 360 feedback into concrete, sustained behavior change.
  • Diagnose how an organization is led during early engagement and own the improvement plan.
  • Support and help define new ways of working across a globally distributed company.
  • Develop and supervise practitioners working in the field to improve their craft.
  • Set and uphold Canonical’s coaching and organizational development standards.
  • Feed insights from field work back into the company’s management-excellence approach.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on coaching and organizational development experience with real leaders and teams.
  • A track record of measurably changing leader behavior with specific examples.
  • Credibility with senior leaders and directors.
  • Ability to work effectively inside another organization without formal authority.
  • A clear philosophy on when coaching is appropriate versus when a role or fit change is the right call.
  • An exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Sincere personal motivation aligned with Canonical’s mission.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times per year for internal events.
  • Management consulting background (nice to have).
  • Experience coaching in a distributed, fast-moving, technical organization (nice to have).
  • Experience building competency or development frameworks (nice to have).
  • Experience designing and running workshops or training sessions, in person and online (nice to have).
  • Learning-design judgment for development materials (nice to have).
  • Talent-development experience, valued but secondary to coaching and consulting craft (nice to have).
