Description

  • Provide interim leadership across finance areas such as general accounting, grants, purchasing, fixed assets, and disbursements.
  • Partner with campus leaders and external auditors to assess current processes and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, interim reports, and financial statements.
  • Support compliance with state and federal grant requirements and institutional policies.
  • Strengthen internal controls and improve financial reporting and operational alignment with strategic goals.
  • Evaluate current processes and design future-state processes for finance operations.
  • Architect, develop, test, train, and roll out process and technical solutions related to Banner and finance workflows.
  • Map current and desired processes in detail, including process steps and ownership.
  • Facilitate collaboration among functional areas, students, faculty, staff, leadership, and technical teams.
  • Provide consultative support to help institutions fully leverage their people, processes, policies, and technologies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading, managing, or directing finance functional areas at a college or university.
  • Experience configuring Ellucian Banner ERP for one or more finance functional areas.
  • Professional experience as a finance business analyst working with Ellucian Banner ERP in higher education.
  • Experience with business process reviews and recommending policy changes.
  • Ability to lead organizational change and support adoption of Banner technology.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience facilitating diverse groups and building consensus.
  • Superior communication skills and a consultative approach with clients.
  • Experience mapping current and desired processes in detail, including process ownership.
  • Experience overseeing banking and cash management, project contract billing, pre-award grants, and research is preferred.
  • College degree required; master’s degree or above preferred.
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus, but not required.
