Description

  • Support sales and business development teams in scoping and evaluating distributed energy resource solutions for commercial and industrial customers.
  • Develop project models and analyses to size systems, estimate costs, and forecast dispatch for energy storage, solar, and related technologies.
  • Build and maintain financial models for distributed energy projects to support customer offerings and internal return objectives.
  • Design and evaluate distributed energy solutions to ensure technical feasibility, commercial viability, and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Provide technical insight across cross-functional project teams by evaluating changes in assumptions, technical decisions, and commercial levers.
  • Prepare technical analyses, models, and presentation materials for client meetings, RFPs, and other customer-facing documents.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and work with customers pre-sales to define system specifications, functional requirements, and solution concepts.
  • Interface with customers by phone, email, and onsite to answer technical questions and help resolve application or system issues.
  • Develop market expertise in utility grid services programs such as demand response, virtual power plants, ancillary services, and other monetization opportunities for DER assets.
  • Visit customer sites to gather requirements, collect energy data, inspect equipment, and support pre-engineering development with Engineering and Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant advanced education and experience.
  • 3+ years of technical experience in energy systems design or a related area.
  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience in sales engineering, application engineering, field engineering, or a similar technical support role.
  • Strong preference for energy storage dispatch modeling experience or similar time-dependent energy system modeling.
  • Experience building and operating financial models for distributed energy projects.
  • Deep knowledge of energy storage, solar, and other distributed energy resources (DERs).
  • Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools, including CoPilot, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, with up to 10% of travel outside the assigned area.
