Description

  • Drive new business by modeling projects, analyzing load data, sizing solutions, estimating costs, and simulating expected dispatches.
  • Design and evaluate complex distributed energy resource solutions for large commercial and industrial customers, including multisite portfolios and high-load facilities.
  • Assess distributed energy storage value stacks across customer savings, grid services, market revenue opportunities, performance, risk, and return.
  • Support advanced late-stage opportunities by identifying risks, proposing solutions, and helping move projects through final investment decision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to define solution strategy, customer value propositions, and commercial tactics for closing business.
  • Visit customer sites to gather requirements, inspect equipment and configurations, and collect data to support pre-engineering analysis.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Product Marketing, and Product Management as a link between internal teams and customers.
  • Coordinate regional solutions engineering workload, manage the modeling queue, and help identify tool development needs.
  • Mentor other team members in the region and help organize and prioritize day-to-day solutions engineering tasks.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, webinars, and articles supporting Calibrant’s thought leadership initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, application engineering, field engineering, or technical support.
  • 4+ years of technical and analytics experience in distributed generation within a commercial and industrial context strongly preferred.
  • Must be located in the assigned territory to maintain close contact with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to conduct site walks of facilities in the assigned region as needed.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without day-to-day direction.
  • Strong attention to detail while remaining commercially minded and sales focused.
  • Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in teams and a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools, including CoPilot, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong financial modeling skills for distributed energy projects, including sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, and evaluation of risk, return, and contract structures.
  • Strong business and technical analytical skills with the ability to translate customer needs into technical and operational requirements.
  • Project management skills, including multitasking, prioritization, deadline management, and accurate execution.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, with up to 10% of travel outside the assigned area.
