Description

  • Design, build, and operate services and APIs for contacts, companies, third-party data syncing, deduplication, enrichment, and search.
  • Partner with Product and Design to define requirements, sequence milestones, and deliver incremental value.
  • Contribute to data models and storage strategies for people-related objects, ensuring consistency, privacy, and scalability.
  • Improve system resilience through observability, fault-tolerant patterns, and production readiness.
  • Participate in on-call support for business-critical services.
  • Collaborate with adjacent teams to evolve architecture and shared components.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor peers.
  • Design, build, and maintain internal tools, integrations, and in-product features for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Own projects end to end from discovery and system design through implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
  • Improve reliability, performance, scalability, developer workflows, and internal user experience.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of professional software development experience, including ownership of production services at scale in a SaaS environment.
  • Strong proficiency in backend development, including building services, APIs, and data-intensive backend workflows.
  • Experience designing for scalability, reliability, and observability in cloud environments, with GCP preferred.
  • Experience with container orchestration, especially Kubernetes.
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures and modernizing or decomposing legacy systems into services.
  • Proficiency with relational databases, with PostgreSQL preferred.
  • Experience with data modeling for complex domains.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a bias for clean, maintainable code, thoughtful testing, and incremental delivery.
  • Frontend experience with React and TypeScript is a nice to have.
  • Experience with microfrontends, Node services, Rails ecosystems, and event-driven architectures is a nice to have.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation for critical services.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States, as Calendly does not provide immigration sponsorship at this time.

Benefits

  • Base salary ranges from $187,000 to $271,920 USD depending on location tier.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for a Top Performer Bonus program or sales incentive.

  • Remote work location is used to determine pay tier, with hybrid location handling also supported.
  • This role may require occasional travel for company events, team collaboration, or offsites.
