Description

  • Set priorities and define what the team works on across AI Enablement and AI Experiments tracks.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with internal business teams, gathering workflows and requirements and translating pain points into technical work.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure exploration work aligns with broader product direction.
  • Lead the team’s operating rhythm, including stand-ups, demos, planning sessions, and leadership readouts.
  • Make resource allocation decisions across workstreams based on shifting priorities.
  • Decide when to stop work that is not delivering results and reprioritize experiments as needed.
  • Communicate progress, learnings, next steps, and escalation needs clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify internal processes where AI can reduce effort and build the business case for expanding the team’s scope.
  • Guide the team’s technology roadmap, including model selection, infrastructure choices, build-vs-buy tradeoffs, and adoption of new tools or frameworks.
  • QA AI outputs, review architecture decisions, participate in technical design and code reviews, and evaluate experiment rigor before work ships or is shared.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, engineering management, or a similar role leading technical AI/ML or data-driven teams.
  • Prior hands-on technical experience as an engineer, data scientist, or ML practitioner; the path into product should come from a technical role.
  • Strong understanding of LLM-based systems, including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration patterns.
  • Ability to read Python code, review pull requests for logic and architecture, and write quick scripts when needed.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure or equivalent cloud platforms for deploying, monitoring, and scaling AI workloads.
  • Understanding of LLM cost structure, including token economics, model pricing, caching strategies, and model routing approaches.
  • Ability to evaluate AI outputs critically and diagnose issues such as hallucinations or inconsistent results.
  • Experience working with internal non-technical stakeholders and translating business needs into engineering work.
  • Experience managing budgets or vendor relationships for AI/ML infrastructure, cloud services, or technical platforms.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, with the judgment to adapt the process to the team’s needs.
  • Previous experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or data scientist is a plus, especially in NLP, search, or content generation.
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining RAG pipelines, AI agents, or LLM-based applications is preferred.
  • Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, automated scoring, human evaluation protocols, or A/B testing for AI systems is preferred.
  • Exposure to AI governance frameworks, responsible AI practices, or compliance requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices such as model versioning, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and cost tracking is preferred.

  • $160,000 to $170,000 annual salary.
