Description

  • Manage and oversee the bi-weekly payroll process in partnership with Human Resources and the payroll provider.
  • Review payroll for accuracy, prepare payroll-related journal entries, and reconcile payroll liability and balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure timely payroll tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including supporting audits and W-2 reporting.
  • Manage state payroll tax registrations, employer accounts, notices, and multi-state payroll tax compliance.
  • Prepare monthly revenue recognition calculations under U.S. GAAP (ASC 606) and reconcile related accounts.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Revenue Cycle, FP&A, and HR to ensure accurate financial recording and compliance.
  • Maintain grant accounting records, track expenditures, prepare reimbursement requests, and support grant audits.
  • Serve as a primary owner of the general ledger and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, management reporting packages, annual audits, and tax return support.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, maintain accounting documentation, and support special projects and system implementations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and multi-state payroll tax compliance.
  • Experience with revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience preparing account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
  • Experience with grant accounting (preferred).
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or a high-growth startup environment (preferred).
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar (preferred).
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers such as ADP, Rippling, or Gusto (preferred).

  • Starting pay range of $80,000-$95,000 per year.
