Description

  • Analyze and evaluate Veterans Administration claim payments using EnableComp’s proprietary software and tools.
  • Review payer payment documentation to determine whether providers were reimbursed according to the applicable state fee schedule.
  • Research, request, and obtain medical records and supporting documentation for hospital claims.
  • Submit claims and supporting documents to the Veterans Administration or TriWest to secure timely reimbursement.
  • Prepare initial bill packets and appeal letters using EnableComp systems and submit them to insurance companies.
  • Conduct timely telephone follow-up with payers to confirm receipt of claims and documentation.
  • Maintain privacy and security standards for PHI and confidential/proprietary information.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in healthcare billing or collections.
  • 2+ years of client-facing or customer service experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with VA billing and collections required; experience with other complex claims is a plus.
  • Intermediate understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing and related data requirements.
  • Intermediate understanding of government and veteran benefit programs.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple competing tasks, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
