Description

  • Work directly with BI Developers and Business Analysts to translate business requirements into test cases.
  • Validate BI solutions, including data sources, data extraction, transformation logic, and target table loading.
  • Build test strategy, test plans, test harnesses, test scenarios, scripts, and test cases.
  • Execute manual and automated testing for ETL and Business Intelligence components.
  • Validate SQL queries related to test cases and verify data accuracy.
  • Produce test summary reports and track defects using bug tracking tools.
  • Review and validate dashboards and reports in reporting tools.
  • Support testing across the BI stack, including ETL, data visualization, and QA workflows.

Requirements

  • 2.5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in BI.
  • 4.5+ years of experience for Senior QA Engineer, BI.
  • Experience in data warehousing and BI testing using ETL and reporting tools.
  • Extensive experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries in Snowflake, Redshift, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Exposure to data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.
  • Experience understanding ETL source-to-target mapping documents.
  • Experience testing code on ETL tools.
  • Experience validating dashboards and reports in Sisense, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, or MicroStrategy.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
  • Experience with QA methodologies such as Waterfall, V-Model, Agile, and Scrum.
  • Strong ability to write detailed test cases for functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience with black box, smoke, functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression, UAT, load, performance, and stress testing.
  • Experience using TFS, JIRA, or Excel for test case writing and tracking.
  • Exposure to Python for automated test scripts or automated tools like QuerySurge is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, analytical, planning, implementation, and presentation skills.
