Description

  • Lead client communications strategy, message development, and creative storytelling for public-sector and public health clients.
  • Develop tailored work plans that align with client objectives, target audiences, messaging frameworks, visual identity systems, and outreach strategies.
  • Lead client discovery sessions and translate goals, audience needs, and outcomes into creative solutions and deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, and stakeholder discussions to guide communications and creative direction.
  • Oversee the creation of reports, infographics, presentations, campaign collateral, and digital media.
  • Translate technical or policy-heavy content into clear, visually compelling materials that improve understanding and engagement.
  • Maintain creative standards and brand consistency across client projects.
  • Manage the design and production process from concept through delivery, coordinating with internal and external designers as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to client leads and ensure timely delivery, high-quality service, and creative excellence.
  • Lead proposal development and thought leadership efforts related to creative strategy, communications, and design.
  • Develop and track metrics to assess communication effectiveness and audience engagement.
  • Refine creative processes and tools to improve efficiency and client value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in creative strategy, communications consulting, and design leadership for government, nonprofit, or mission-driven clients.
  • Minimum 5 years of client-facing experience, including 2 or more years in project leadership roles.
  • Exceptional client management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of messaging across diverse audiences, including the general public and elected officials.
  • Strong design and visual storytelling portfolio demonstrating excellence across digital and print mediums; portfolio required for consideration.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite or similar design applications and familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Figma, and Canva.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives and visuals.
  • Alignment with BME Strategies’ shared values.
  • People management experience preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted workflows such as image generation or video production preferred.
  • Motion graphics experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with public health, government communications, or health equity initiatives strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work from a home office in the U.S.; occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or meetings may be required.
  • BME Strategies is unable to sponsor work-related visas.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $87,360 to $120,640 annually.
  • 6+ weeks of total leave, including paid vacation, sick time, personal leave, and floating holidays.
