Description

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
  • Write and review code to ensure high quality, maintainability, reusability, and test coverage.
  • Break business requirements into technical features and tasks and map system interactions across data structures and APIs.
  • Collaborate on a cross-functional team with user experience professionals, product managers, engineers, and other specialists.
  • Design full-stack technical solutions across UI, APIs, and related system components.
  • Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data models using Postgres and DynamoDB for availability and performance.
  • Apply modern engineering practices including API-first design, continuous integration, version control, accessibility, and automated testing.
  • Build cloud-based applications using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Amplify.
  • Define infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, CDK, or SAM and maintain deployment pipelines.
  • Identify technical debt, instability, and reliability issues, and design, document, and communicate improvements to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer on products with significant data requirements.
  • Experience owning technical solutions end to end.
  • Experience with technologies such as HTML5, CSS3/Sass, Responsive Design, Node, React, Angular, Java SpringBoot, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with AWS technologies including Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, CloudFormation, CDK, SAM, and Amplify.
  • Understanding of core AWS concepts such as IAM permissions and security group rules.
  • Strong database design, implementation, and management skills, including knowing when to use SQL versus NoSQL.
  • Ability to deliver scalable, highly available, and performant application architectures and code.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as GitHub and familiarity with GitHub Actions and CI/CD best practices.
  • Ability to author developer-friendly documentation such as API documentation and deployment operations documentation.
  • Experience working in a SAFe, scrum, or agile development environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to select and use the best tools for the job, particularly open-source solutions.
