Description

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
  • Analyze business requirements and break them into technical features, tasks, data structures, APIs, and system components.
  • Work on a cross-functional team with user experience professionals, product managers, engineers, and other specialists.
  • Design technical solutions across the full stack, including UI development and API development.
  • Apply lean-agile engineering principles in day-to-day development work.
  • Advocate for and use modern engineering practices such as API-first design, continuous integration, version control, and automated testing.
  • Analyze systems to identify technical debt, instability, unreliability, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design, document, and communicate solutions to technical problems.
  • Represent Blue Tiger professionally when working with government stakeholders and other contractors.
  • Support delivery of software for public use and benefit in a regulated healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building applications using Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or other open-source programming languages.
  • 5+ years of experience working with APIs.
  • 5+ years of experience working with React, Redux, and Node.js.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software in a distributed team environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Apache Kafka.
  • 5+ years of experience with backend software development.
  • Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON, including accessible semantic HTML and clean CSS aligned to design systems.
  • Experience building applications using modern client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.js.
  • In-depth knowledge of scalable, highly available, and performant application architectures.
  • Expertise in version control systems such as GitHub.
  • Experience with backend concepts and technologies such as data structures, NoSQL design patterns, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
  • Hands-on cloud experience with AWS, especially AWS CDK, or Azure.
  • Ability to author developer-friendly documentation, including API documentation and deployment operations.
  • Commitment to polished, easy-to-read, well-documented code; ESLint and Prettier are a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within a scrum/agile development methodology and environment.
  • Ability to select and use the best tools for the job, particularly open-source solutions.
  • Proven ability to apply good software engineering principles and practices.

  • Salary range of $140,000 to $160,000.
