Description

  • Own the technical roadmap and provide architecture leadership for ML- and AI-driven search relevance solutions.
  • Design, develop, and enhance machine learning models and algorithms for search and relevance.
  • Own model evaluation and experimentation frameworks for reliable deployments.
  • Analyze queries, product catalogs, user behavior, and relevance data to identify patterns and improve search quality.
  • Collaborate with software and data engineers to integrate and scale ML components in production.
  • Mentor engineers and influence cross-team technical and product decisions.
  • Stay current with advances in machine learning, information retrieval, and generative AI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with strong mathematical and programming foundations.
  • 8+ years of experience building ML-driven systems and algorithms in production.
  • Strong Python skills and proficiency in a backend language such as Java or Go.
  • Experience building low-latency, scalable distributed systems in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Strong background in search, information retrieval, ranking, or search relevance at scale.
  • Hands-on experience applying LLMs to search or ML problems, including quality, latency, and cost trade-offs.
  • Experience with multiple merchants, domains, and languages.
  • Expertise in NLP and search quality techniques, including intent identification, query understanding, data analysis, and domain-specific model tuning.
  • Experience with RAG, lexical search, vector search, or recommendation systems, plus PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and English communication skills; LLM evaluation frameworks and hybrid search experience preferred.
