Description

  • Design and own black-box, API-level, integration, and end-to-end test automation for Data Pipeline services, especially imports.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites in GitLab CI/CD that gate deployments and detect regressions.
  • Read Go and Python pipeline code to identify testing gaps and design meaningful test cases.
  • Drive test strategy during grooming and design reviews, including acceptance criteria, edge cases, and failure modes.
  • Partner with developers and the existing Data Pipeline QA engineer to improve automation and testing practices.
  • Use telemetry and production incident reproduction to create durable regression tests.
  • Extend quality coverage across the broader Data Pipeline core.
  • Validate high-volume systems involving Kafka, GCP, Kubernetes, BigQuery, MongoDB, and Redis.

Requirements

  • Experience writing automated integration and API tests in Python, Go, or a similar language.
  • Ability to read backend or pipeline code in Go or Python and reason about cross-component failures.
  • Experience owning black-box, API, integration, or end-to-end automation.
  • Strong interest in making test automation the primary craft rather than focusing mainly on manual testing.
  • Shift-left mindset, with the ability to define tests and failure modes during grooming and design.
  • Ability to learn complex codebases and data domains involving tracking, imports, exports, and multiple storages.
  • Experience working effectively in a remote-first environment.
  • Fluent daily use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or Gemini CLI.
  • Backend development exposure, ETL or data-pipeline testing experience, or experience with Kafka, GCP, or BigQuery preferred.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework, Playwright, Postman, or similar API testing tools preferred.

  • Base salary range of 732,000–1,110,000 CZK.
