Description

  • Develop programme strategy, implementation, and evaluation plans aligned with BCI’s overall strategy.
  • Coordinate projects across a global volunteer team, including research, communications, and capacity-building divisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support programme synergy.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment with strong communication, knowledge sharing, and critical reflection.
  • Identify key milestones and facilitate reflection and collective learning with divisions and project partners.
  • Work with senior management to anticipate risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during project implementation using a solution-focused approach.
  • Develop and support the programme team for overall execution and monitoring.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders on project status, achievements, and challenges.
  • Support cross-divisional project coordination, including evaluating project opportunities and planning programmes.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing sustainability initiatives and projects.
  • Experience building constructive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including UN agencies, government organizations, academic institutions, corporations, and civil society.
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams is a plus.
  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in international development, sustainability, computer science, environmental studies, business administration, or project management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, delegate, and coordinate team members.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage independent work and meet project delivery deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of UN climate change inter-governmental processes, technology transfer, and related funding mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of climate change, sustainability, climate finance, and blockchain technology is preferred.
  • Understanding of the business aspects of blockchain and climate action, including market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and funding opportunities, is beneficial.
  • Cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and ability to navigate diverse perspectives and time zones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management applications.
  • Ex-USAID and USAID-funded programme experience is particularly welcome.
