Description

  • Develop programme strategy, implementation, and evaluation plans aligned with the institute’s overall strategy.
  • Coordinate projects across a global team spanning research, communications, and capacity-building divisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support programme delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment with strong communication, knowledge sharing, and critical reflection.
  • Identify key milestones and facilitate collective learning with divisions and project partners.
  • Work with senior management to anticipate risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues arising during project implementation using a solution-focused approach.
  • Develop and support a programme team for overall execution and monitoring.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on project status, achievements, and challenges.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience leading and managing sustainability initiatives and projects.
  • Experience building constructive relationships with stakeholders such as UN agencies, government organizations, academic institutions, corporations, and civil society.
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams is a plus.
  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a sustainability-related field such as computer science, environmental studies, business administration, or project management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, delegate, and coordinate teams.
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Working knowledge of UN climate change intergovernmental processes, technology transfer, and related funding mechanisms is required.
  • Strong understanding of climate change, sustainability, climate finance, and blockchain technology is preferred.
  • Understanding of blockchain business aspects, including market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and funding opportunities, is beneficial.
  • Cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and the ability to work across diverse perspectives and time zones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management apps.
  • Accountability for managing own work and meeting project delivery deadlines.
  • Share BCI’s mission and be excited to work collaboratively for a climate-positive future.
