Description

  • Shape the capacity-building strategy with the Director-General and implement the division’s operating model.
  • Take ownership of the key priorities and day-to-day operations of the Capacity Building Division.
  • Lead advisory services and capability-development support for non-profit organizations, government bodies, policymakers, and negotiators.
  • Develop and strengthen the capacity of relevant institutions through webinars and other engagement channels.
  • Oversee the creation of an external capacity development framework with Capacity Building Officers.
  • Use interviews, surveys, evaluations, and strategic frameworks to assess needs and support market engagement.
  • Provide digitized tools and support for advisory services on BCI strategic projects.
  • Lead contractual training delivery assignments for climate policymakers, negotiators, NGO leaders, and corporate leaders.
  • Conduct market research on climate-related actions and emerging technology trends, especially AI and blockchain.
  • Present findings and situational analysis to the Executive Committee and Advisory Board, and help recruit Capacity Building Officers.

Requirements

  • MBA or a postgraduate degree in business or a relevant discipline is required.
  • Experience in the civil service, start-up, NGO, or other non-profit organization.
  • Experience as a senior executive or in learning and development, preferably in the public sector or another relevant capacity-building setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive education focused on blockchain, AI strategy, or other emerging digital technologies.
  • Working experience using tools for research, advisory services, and talent development.
  • High-level awareness of climate frameworks and blockchain.
  • Familiarity with common business software, project management programs, and IT systems.
  • Experience as a product owner or most senior organizational leader in a start-up environment is highly beneficial.
  • Capability-building experience in a non-profit environment is highly beneficial.
