Description

  • Design product experiences that help sellers onboard, activate, and succeed across Square’s ecosystem, with a focus on mobile-first touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and designers to define strategy, shape roadmaps, and deliver end-to-end flows.
  • Use customer insight, craft, and curiosity to simplify complex experiences and guide sellers toward value.
  • Balance rapid iteration with high-quality execution across both vision work and shippable UI.
  • Give clear, actionable feedback and help build a culture of design excellence within the Growth organization.
  • Advocate for native mobile best practices and platform-native design patterns for intuitive, performant experiences.
  • Partner across mobile and web product surfaces to improve adoption, engagement, and retention.
  • Own end-to-end design solutions in complex product environments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product design.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, craft excellence, and clear problem-solving across mobile and web.
  • Demonstrated success designing for native mobile applications on iOS and Android, including transitions, gestures, and platform conventions.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to map complex flows and handle detailed execution.
  • Experience driving measurable outcomes such as engagement, activation, or retention.
  • Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional product work.
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to translate data and research into design decisions.
  • Personal experience in the small business or financial sectors is encouraged and may be especially relevant.
  • Experience working in complex product environments is preferred.
