Description

  • Maintain and help develop the art vision while driving new content and features.
  • Collaborate with production to keep the project on schedule, on budget, and at the highest quality.
  • Create and drive visual targets that define the in-engine art vision and quality bar.
  • Delegate and direct responsibilities as needed, and proactively identify and present solutions to problems.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication and feedback to the development team and external partners throughout production.
  • Sell the art direction to all invested parties and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with game leadership to deliver a world-class addition to a popular indie franchise.
  • Mentor and grow artists to improve their thinking, process, and craft.
  • Inspire the art team to deliver consistent quality across all art disciplines.
  • Collaborate with studio art leadership to build and maintain an inspiring art culture, and participate in hiring and talent retention.
  • Drive all disciplines within the Art Department, including stylization and optimization approaches for VFX and Tech Art.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of extensive experience in the games industry as an artist or art leader.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred as an Art Director.
  • Experience shipping games on both console and PC.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
  • Strong skills in both 2D and 3D art.
  • A passion for and understanding of current popular games and the art direction decisions behind them.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside in Canada.
  • Portfolio link required with CV.
  • Experience creating art under a strong technical brief is preferred.
  • $130,000 - $150,000 a year.
