Description

  • Design, build, and maintain resilient, secure, and highly available infrastructure for SaaS and hosted services on GCP.
  • Design and manage secure, scalable GCP network architecture, including VPCs, peering, shared VPC, VPN, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud NAT, firewall rules, and DNS.
  • Automate deployment pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and incident response using CI/CD and GitOps practices.
  • Monitor site stability and performance using GCP observability tools and troubleshoot issues across the stack.
  • Scale infrastructure to meet growing demand using autoscaling, load balancing, and cost-optimization practices.
  • Own end-to-end operations for customer-facing SaaS and hosted environments, including availability, performance, and change management.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, IT, Services, and other teams to manage requirements and deliver production changes.
  • Collaborate with developers to bring new features and services into production using containerized, Kubernetes-native deployment patterns.
  • Develop and improve runbooks, procedures, scripts, and documentation, including using AI and LLM tools to accelerate automation and troubleshooting.
  • Proactively meet information security and compliance standards such as ISO, SOX, SSAE 16, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO-27001, and NIST 800-53.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations supporting a highly available SaaS or cloud service environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, VPC networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging.
  • Strong GCP infrastructure and networking experience, including VPC architecture, Cloud Interconnect/VPN, load balancing, Cloud DNS, firewall policies, and multi-region network design.
  • Experience with containerization and image management using Docker, with familiarity in container security best practices.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or equivalent; GitOps workflow experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Java applications and the J2EE technology stack.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go, and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or equivalent.
  • Comfort using AI and LLM tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar for scripting, troubleshooting, documentation, and on-call investigation.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TLS, load balancing, and service mesh, along with troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, including the ability to set and enforce process and influence engineers who are not direct reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
