Description

  • Build, manage, and develop the HR team, including setting goals, priorities, and service-level expectations.
  • Serve as a hands-on player-coach across all HR disciplines while supporting team development.
  • Partner with Finance to manage the HR budget, including headcount, systems, and program spend.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex employee relations issues, including misconduct, harassment, and performance disputes.
  • Advise managers and executives on performance management, discipline, and involuntary separations.
  • Partner with Legal on matters involving litigation risk, regulatory exposure, or formal legal guidance.
  • Implement and improve a scalable performance review process and coach managers on effective feedback.
  • Design and champion employee engagement surveys, action planning, and broader culture initiatives.
  • Develop manager capability through training programs, leadership development, and coaching.
  • Design and execute a scalable recruiting strategy to support significant headcount growth over the next 24 months.
  • Build relationships with executive search firms, recruiting agencies, and sourcing partners.
  • Partner with Finance and department leaders on workforce planning, headcount modeling, and hiring ROI analysis.
  • Establish employer brand initiatives to position the company as a destination employer.
  • Own and optimize HR systems, including HRIS, ATS, and performance management platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain HR policies and the employee handbook.
  • Oversee onboarding programs that accelerate productivity and reinforce company culture.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation, equity, bonus, and benefits programs.
  • Build transparent compensation bands and career frameworks that support internal equity and career growth.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of progressive HR experience.
  • 3+ years in a director-level, VP, or senior HR business partner role.
  • Experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS company strongly preferred.
  • Experience scaling through a growth phase strongly preferred.
  • Experience at PE- and/or VC-backed SaaS companies strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building HR infrastructure, systems, processes, and policies from the ground up or in a high-change environment.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, compensation practices, and benefits administration.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and executive leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high EQ and the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Must be located in the U.S., preferably in the Eastern time zone.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
