Description

  • Extend and improve Bellroy’s bespoke e-commerce platform.
  • Integrate the platform with digital marketplaces around the world.
  • Build software systems that are correct, observable, and maintainable.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product design, data science, logistics, and other teams.
  • Write and refine production code in a functional programming style.
  • Improve code quality, elegance, and long-term maintainability.
  • Participate in retrospectives and continuous improvement work.
  • Contribute during hack days, learning events, book clubs, and mob programming sessions.
  • Work on tooling, workflows, and technical experimentation during cooldown days.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience writing production code in a functional language.
  • Experience with Haskell, Clojure, Elixir, F#, Scala, OCaml, Erlang, or a strongly functional style in Rust, Kotlin, or Swift.
  • Strong focus on thoughtful, long-lasting code design.
  • Interest in mastering craft rather than primarily pursuing management.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional environment.
  • Curiosity for new ideas and a desire to keep learning.
  • Preferred: experience with Nix.
  • Preferred: familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.
  • Preferred: ability to navigate Ruby on Rails codebases, especially legacy systems interfacing with Haskell services.
  • Ability to work remotely from Australia or New Zealand, or from the Collingwood, Victoria office.
