Description

  • Manage a team of 6-10 engineers and eventually managers, coaching their growth and performance.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the team’s products and processes to improve internal operations and integration with the company.
  • Set high standards for engineering quality, productivity, and accountability.
  • Scope, prioritize, and coordinate tactical work in alignment with strategic company initiatives.
  • Own and communicate the team’s outcome-oriented development roadmap to stakeholders.
  • Lead project management for team initiatives, including scope definition, timeline management, and expectation setting.
  • Drive product direction, discovery, and prioritization for the Analytics Systems Team.
  • Build processes and cross-functional connections that strengthen product intuition across the team.
  • Define a strategic vision for how Analytics Systems supports life sciences projects, diagnostic workflows, and biomarker discovery.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of Beacon’s Analytics Suite products, data tooling, and pipelines.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of management experience leading mid- to large-sized analytics engineering teams.
  • Experience with analytics engineering tools such as dbt or SQLMesh.
  • Experience with data modeling and pipelines such as Snowflake, Databricks, Argo, or Airflow.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Superset, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Experience in medical devices, clinical diagnostics, real-world data, pharma/biotech, or similar fields.
  • Prior experience in a regulated industry with design controls and agile development.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to understand user and product needs and translate them into prioritization decisions.
  • Track record of anticipating company-wide needs and addressing them proactively.
  • Ability to manage complexity, technical debt, and bandwidth constraints effectively.
