Description

  • Participate in and lead the full biosignal-based algorithm development lifecycle for medical devices, from scoping and requirements gathering through production maintenance and documentation.
  • Curate and label data to support algorithm development and validation.
  • Select and implement the most appropriate modeling approach for each problem, including deep learning and non-deep-learning methods when appropriate.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain internal machine learning and deep learning tools to improve team efficiency and experimentation speed.
  • Introduce new model architectures and algorithmic techniques and improve code reuse across the codebase.
  • Establish and improve engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, CI, and non-regression testing.
  • Present results to key stakeholders and help them use algorithms for client engagement.
  • Support client-facing projects and help shape the impact of Beacon’s algorithms for existing and future use cases.
  • Work across development, failure analysis, production deployment, maintenance, and quality/regulatory documentation.

Requirements

  • More than 4 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning.
  • Experience bringing algorithms into production, preferably in health sciences or other regulated fields.
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics.
  • Proficiency with PyTorch or another deep learning framework for training, developing, and deploying models.
  • Familiarity with recent deep learning advances such as Transformers, ViTs, large-scale modeling, and large model training.
  • Experience with software and ML engineering best practices, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Docker, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.
  • Familiarity with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets, or strong interest in learning the domain.
  • Ability to distill and present complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort working across the full algorithm development lifecycle, including data wrangling, formal validation, and regulatory-quality documentation.
