Description

  • Own a major product, platform, or cross-functional capability and set its direction over the next one to two years.
  • Take ambiguous business problems from initial concept through production and remain accountable for customer impact.
  • Build platform and tooling that other teams adopt and that can scale over time.
  • Make architecture decisions that span multiple teams and are costly to reverse.
  • Set the standard for how the domain builds with AI, including patterns, evaluations, and safeguards before release.
  • Partner with product, design, and data as peers to shape what gets built from the start.
  • Coach senior engineers through technical and ambiguous decision-making.
  • Stay hands-on in code for the hardest technical problems.
  • Help resolve shared customer identity and personalization across registry, shop, health, and family-buying experiences.
  • Design and improve the knowledge systems and scaffolding that make coding agents effective.

Requirements

  • Production systems experience sufficient to have developed strong technical opinions over many years.
  • Ability to work comfortably with ambiguous problems and make progress without a full picture.
  • Experience changing how a team builds with AI and making the new approach stick.
  • Strong depth in either platform/reliability/security systems or customer-facing product/domain ownership.
  • Fluency in the complementary area, whether that is product partnership or systems depth.
  • Ability to measure success by customer outcomes or by systems adopted by many teams.
  • Curiosity to identify problems early and drive ideas through to shipping.
  • For Canada-based candidates, starting base salary ranges from $299,300 to $372,600 CAD.
  • Target annual bonus is 20% of base salary.
  • Meaningful equity and RRSP match are provided.
  • Experience with the listed stack is relevant, including Rails, React, TypeScript, MySQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and AI development tools.
  • Ability to participate in a hiring process that includes a no-AI technical screen and an AI-assisted final coding round.
