Description

  • Lead negotiation of investment-related NDAs, Engagement Letters, joinder agreements, and non-reliance letters.
  • Manage the contract process from initial review through negotiation and document execution.
  • Work from client playbooks to guide contract drafting and negotiation decisions.
  • Collaborate with Avantia lawyers and paralegals on high-volume pre-M&A contract matters.
  • Communicate directly with counterparties to progress negotiations efficiently.
  • Prioritize multiple matters and competing deadlines while maintaining rapid turnaround times.
  • Provide crisp, concise, and commercially pragmatic legal advice.
  • Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the UK, Europe, or another EMEA jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of corporate or transactional law experience in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience independently negotiating investment-related NDAs and Engagement Letters.
  • Familiarity with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms is preferable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong grasp of relevant legal concepts with a commercial and pragmatic outlook.
  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week across the week.
  • Freelance/consultancy availability, with no guarantee of regular work.
