Description

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on US market access, coding, coverage, reimbursement, and policy issues.
  • Monitor and analyze federal and state policy, reimbursement, and market changes and translate them into client recommendations.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research to answer client business questions and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Synthesize literature, data, and research into actionable strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for designated workstreams.
  • Oversee project workstreams and teams to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and collaborate with subject matter experts across Avalere Health.
  • Review, guide, and integrate feedback into deliverables and final client materials.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide feedback to junior team members.
  • Contribute to account growth, practice development, and a collaborative team culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Business Administration, Health Economics, Health Policy, Public Policy, Healthcare Management, or Public Administration.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies, health plans, advocacy organizations, government agencies, think tanks, or similar healthcare-focused organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. market access and reimbursement landscape, including payer coverage, utilization management, pricing and contracting strategy, and evidence/value requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicare Part D, Medicare Drug Price Negotiation under the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex policy analysis, research findings, and data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, timelines, scope, and client expectations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in healthcare consulting, management consulting, strategy & operations, or a market access-related field is preferred.
  • Experience with direct people management, mentoring, or coaching junior team members is preferred.
  • Experience developing client proposals, statements of work, or supporting business development activities is preferred.
  • Experience leading client-facing presentations and executive discussions is preferred.
  • Experience with the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program is preferred.
  • Experience using advanced Excel, visualization tools, AI-enabled workflows, or other analytical technologies is preferred.
